See, when I was a youngster, the music channels played things called videos. And, like commercials, these had songs (often whole songs) set over little mini movies. But at the begining and end of the song, there woudl be a small box of text in the lower left corner that told you what the hell you'd been listening to. Now that VH! has become the all-nostalgia channel, that doesn't seemt o happen so much.
Most of that album is good. It's like....been in a Swedish timewarp since 1988.
oh...my...gosh. So your telling me...that when you were a kid, music television stations played MUSIC during the day? And not shows like TRL that play 10 seconds of the song, then just do stupid things and play 4 hours of commericals during each break?! And, they didn't play stupid reality shows like Newlyweds (though I do like The Real World) and and and and er...I don't know.
But don't hate on VH1. I like that station. I love the 90's owns...and like the 40 Greatest (fill in the blank) does too...
As our Nielsen box can attest, we love the Nostalgia TV. They've found a much better formula for havign people (us) sit down and watch an hour of their channel than playing videos. But it means that when a bunch of clueless old people hear a song they like, they're a Divinci Code level of research involved in figuring out what the song actually was.
