Firefly wins again
Apr. 13th, 2004 09:36 pmAfter watching an episode of Stargate over my parent's shoulders, I broke down and bought another copy of the Firefly DVD set. Not only did my parents watch it, but my mother realized after the pilot the beauty of TV DVD sets. "You mean, there's 4 episodes on that one disk?"
Oh yes.
3+ hours later, my parents (I'll state that again, *my parents*) have finished the first of the four Firefly disks. I think it took Jodi and I at least two nights to do that.
I'm also in love with the Aspects concept from FATE, a modified FUDGE RPG system. It deals with one of my primary concerns about building a system, namely what attributes to use. FATE says none, and uses Aspects to replace attributes, Edges and Hindrances (in the Deadlands parlance). It's an elegant solution. Hopefully I'll run some test character creation with Mitch and Jen on Sunday and see how it plays out. My god, this game may actually happen.
