I have a health issue that doesnt allow my body to digest carb or sugar, unless I want to spend the better part of the next day in agony. I was doing fine until those Atkin mother-fuckers came along and made low-carb trendy and shoving it into everyone's face every 2 minutes. I go to a resturaunt and order veggies instead of a potato "OH Are you on Atkins too" the bubbly 14 year old waitress says excited "oh my god, I am too, it is SO hard but I have lost So much weight"- fuckin waif like you need to lose an ounce! I am at a dilema, I enjoy being able to go to resturaunt and not be looked at wierd for forgoing the bun or bread, but at the same time I wish the Atkins people would go away and stop calling attention to me who has a ligit reason, not some diet fad! We are DEFINETLY going WAY too far when you can get BK bunless, isnt that the whole reason for going to BK in the first place! As far as low carb beer, what the hell is the sense! Has anyone informed the Atkins people that beer is just liquid bread.

I agree with you that my biggest complaint about this is the cannonization of Atkins as a dietary strategy *for all situations.* Not to mention that it willprovide the easiest sidetrack for the filth peddlers from any meaningful action with regards to actualy changing their menu for the better.

i think the biggest indicator of how out of hand the whole atkins thing has gotten is that there is a study being reported on cnn that shows that eating lowfat foods may be good for you.

HA! This guy cracks me up! Because of her bizarre eating habits, Monica sometimes gets asked if she's on Atkins. So much so, in fact, that she's built up a standard answer, "No, I'm just picky." -grin-
