For Iason and anyone else who craves creep SF and meta narrrative on the day after Halloween:
According to Fnadango, Alien is playing in only thre theaters in our general area. This is a new complex and fairly close to the house. The other two theaters are all much further away, and have nearly identical show times. So, in anwser to the perpetual question, yes. This is it.

It's a nice theater. Just down Blossom Hill from me. Parking can be a pain unless you don't mind walking a little.

Along with the re-release of Alien my list of films to this weekend is pretty short with the Intolerable Cruelty, the new Coen Brothers film.

That's playing at the Los Gatos Cinema, whihc is our walkable theater. I can forgive a lot of a theater that I can walk to (and home from) wholly and completly trashed.

yippee! i saw it last night, and i didn't realize until the end of the credits that it was released the year i was born. that sort of explains why my dad didn't take me to see it in the theatre... (he took me to see T2!) i saw alien all alone and had all sorts of cortisol fun while trying to fall asleep. it was wonderful good tho. i had forgotten how scifi vs action is was! happiness!

Seeing it with Monica was the best thing I could imagine. The last time i saw that film with her, Nikki got stranded at the San Jos airport for an hour.
